The majority of the company's
investment has been focused on increasing
its production.
Around half of the new
investment has been spent on the installation
of three new extrusion lines, taking the
company's total to fourteen. This means
that production capacity now exceeds 380,000
metres per week for the first time in the
company's history.
The remainder of the investment
will be spent on new product tooling during
the next few months. A total of 8 tools
will be acquired, which are essential to
meet the demands of BCE's aggressive new
product development and introduction programme.
Speaking about the investment,
HWBP sales and marketing director, Barry
Stone, said:
"HWBP has set its
sights on leading every aspect of the PVC-UE
building products sector and we're determined
to stay well ahead of the competition. Our
overall size and market strength means that
we have both the financial resources and
the in-house expertise to meet and exceed
customer demand at every turn".
"This latest investment
comes on top of more than £2.5 million
of capital expenditure across the HWBP companies
during the last 18 months".
"BCE's manufacturing
site at Scunthorpe is now far and away the
most modern and best equipped in the sector
and we aim to keep it that way. Sales are
growing significantly year-on-year and our
aggressive product development and introduction
programme will result in greater growth
between now and the end of next year".
